BMGA minigolf rankings update after the Kent Open

National Strokeplay Order of Merit and Season Only ranking updates from the British Minigolf Association.

The official British minigolf rankings have been updated following the KMGC Kent Open tournament held at the Lost Island Encounter Adventure Golf Course in Chislehurst.

Minigolf Report from Nottingham

Luton Minigolfers Richard and Emily Gottfried competed in the BMGA English Open minigolf tournament at The Lost City Adventure Golf course in Nottingham on Sunday 5th October.

The English Open was played over three-rounds on the 18-hole Temple Trail Adventure Golf course and Emily and Richard tied on a score of 101(-7), alongside Nottingham’s Jam Trubridge. A total of 27-players competed in the event.

Emily scored rounds of 35, 32 and 34 and finished in 9th place with a round difference of three.

Richard scored rounds of 30, 34 and 37 and was classified in 11th place with a round difference of seven shots.

Emily said “The Temple Trail was a great course to play, with some easy and some challenging holes. My round of 32 was a particular highlight. I really enjoyed playing in the English Open and was pleased to finish 9th overall.”

Richard said “I was happy with my opening round of 30, but disappointed with my third-round as I was chasing a podium finish. Great play by Emily again though. I’m now really looking forward to the World Crazy Golf Championships.”

Sean Homer won the BMGA English Open with a 54-hole score of 86(-22).

Emily’s good form continued following her win in the 2014 Holiday on the Buses Crazy Golf Pro Tournament in Prestatyn, North Wales last weekend. Playing in a six-player contest Emily won with a round of 35(-1) to lift the trophy on the 18-hole Arnold Palmer Crazy Golf course at the town’s Central Beach.

Latest BMGA minigolf matchplay rankings

Updated BMGA Matchplay Order of Merit ranking list published.

Neither Emily or I competed in the 2014 BMGA British Matchplay Championships played at the Pirate Cove Adventure Golf course at Bluewater Park last weekend.

Following the event, won for a third-time by Kent's Sean 'Freebird' Homer, the British Minigolf Association has published an updated BMGA Matchplay Order of Merit ranking list.

Emily is ranked at 22nd of 53 players (52 places) on 900 points, while I am ranked at 43rd with 190 points. Emily has retained her position, while I moved down from 36th place.

Splash Point Open 2014 minigolf tournament

Splash Point Open minigolf competition to tee-off at Denton Gardens on Saturday 26th July 2014.

Splash Point Mini Golf in Worthing has announced the date of the first-ever Splash Point Open minigolf tournament.

The club open competition will take place over three rounds on Saturday 26th of July 2014 at the 18-hole course in Worthing's Denton Gardens.

The British Minigolf Association has published the Strokeplay Order of Merit following the 2014 BMGA British Minigolf Championships held at Strokes Adventure Golf in Margate on the 10th and 11th of May.

In the latest update of the official BMGA Order of Merit for 2013/14 I am ranked in 10th place of 85 places (138 players).

Minigolf Report – BMGA British Championships in Margate

Richard Gottfried 13th and Emily Gottfried 24th in national Miniature Golf tournament. 

Luton Minigolfers Richard and Emily Gottfried competed in the BMGA British Minigolf Championships tournament that took place at the 18-hole Strokes Adventure Golf course on Westbrook Promenade in Margate, Kent on the 10th and 11th May.

In the nine-round, 162-hole tournament Richard finished in 13th place overall in the 30-player field, and was 6th of 14 players in the men's general class. Emily finished in 24th place and was third in the BMGA British Women’s Minigolf Championships contested by five players.

Richard scored a nine-round total of 354(+30) after rounds of 41, 43, 39, 40, 37, 43, 34, 34 and 43.

In the tournament's Hole-In-One Charity Challenge Richard was the only player of 28 that managed to score an Ace on the 17th hole to win the shootout.

Emily scored a total of 405(+81) with rounds of 41, 46, 44, 48, 46, 46, 46, 49 and 39.

Richard said “My two rounds of 34 were really good, but I’m pretty disappointed with the other rounds. Strokes Adventure Golf has some real killer holes and I tripped up on a few of them this year. On the bright side I’m really pleased to be the first winner of a BMGA Hole-In-One Challenge shootout this season.”

Emily said “I am really pleased to have won the Bronze Medal at the British Championships during a really windy weekend on the seafront at Margate. The weather did make a few of the holes more challenging than usual so I didn’t score as well as I’d hoped, but I am happy with third place. I’m also pleased that I scored one sub-40 round at the Strokes course, which is renowned for a few really tricky holes and difficult greens.” 

The winner of the 2014 BMGA British Championship was Adam Kelly from Linton, Cambridgeshire.

Latest British Minigolf Association Ranking Updates

Ranking updates from the British Minigolf Association following the BMGA British Masters tournament in Worthing.

The British Minigolf Association has updated the ranking lists following the 2014 BMGA British Masters held at the excellent Splash Point Mini Golf course in Denton Gardens, Worthing on Sunday 13th April.

In the latest update of the official BMGA Order of Merit for 2013/14 I have moved up from 11th place of 79 places (135 players) to be ranked as the new British number 7. A total of 137 players are ranked in the list in 84 places.

Following a very strong showing at the BMGA British Masters Emily has also moved up in the BMGA Order of Merit rankings from 34th place to 26th. The move inside the top 32 players in the UK also means she is now a Category 2 player for the first time in her Minigolf career.
