Pirate Cove Adventure Golf course in Aberavon, Wales

A look at the Pirate Cove Adventure Golf course in Aberavon, Port Talbot in May 2019.

The 12-hole Pirate Cove Adventure Golf course became the 885th course visited and 516th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour when I was there to play in the 2019 Welsh Minigolf Doubles Championship in May 2019.

We warmed up for Sunday's tournament with a singles competition to celebrate National Miniature Golf Day. The in-form David Hartley added to his recent trophy haul by taking the win by one-shot, with Marion Hartley and me tied for second place.

Created by the Natural Play Company, Pirate Cove Adventure Golf is a tricky layout and while there are hole-in-one opportunities, they are few and far between!

Adventure Golf at Hove Lagoon Funland

We began a holiday in North Wales at Colwyn Bay and Rhos on Sea on Miniature Golf Day in 2017. To celebrate the occasion we teed-off on the Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea.

The Crazy Golf at the Rhos Fynach in Rhos on Sea became the 462nd course played and 781st visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

In our match-up on the 9-hole course I won with a score of 31 to Emily's 34.

Hole 3 - The Squid - is one of two holes on the course that has a choice of cups to aim for. A 'Kids' and an 'Adults' version - both were pretty tough!

Pirates Cove Mini Golf in Barrow, Bury St Edmunds

We recently found out there's a Pirates Cove Mini Golf in Barrow, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

The outdoor adventure golf course opened in 2023.

New Crazy Golf course opening at Claremont Pier in Lowestoft

Claremont Pier in Lowestoft, Suffolk is home to a new pirate-themed crazy golf course.

A new pirate crazy golf course is opening at Claremont Pier in Lowestoft on Friday 29th March.

The 18-hole indoor crazy golf course will be called Pirates at the Clarement and is planned to open before Easter this year.

We've been to Lowestoft several times on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour over the years. It's a nice seaside town and we're looking forward to revisiting.

When it opens, the new course in Lowestoft will become the easternmost crazy golf course in the British Isles.

The holiday park is home to a 9-hole Jurassic Crazy Golf course, as well as a 13 hole Pirate Crazy Golf layout.

It's always interesting to see some of the more 'hidden' courses around the UK as generally holiday park courses are only accessible to guests staying at the resort. Although this isn't always the case, so it's worth checking if the holiday camp has a day visitor pass, or if the minigolf course is available to play for non-residents too.

Adventure Golf at Camel Creek Family Adventure Park

Camel Creek Family Adventure Park in Wadebridge, Cornwall has a new Adventure Golf course.

A new pirate-themed Adventure Golf course is opening at the Camel Creek Family Adventure Park in Cornwall.

Camel Creek Family Adventure Park is re-opening in March.
