There will be a 9-hole Mini Golf course at The Big Christmas Adventure at Trinity Park in Ipswich, Suffolk this December.

Halloween Golf & Spooky Trail at Alton Water in Ipswich

There will be a Halloween Golf & Spooky Trail event running at Alton Water in Ipswich, Suffolk from Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November.

We played the 9-hole outdoor Adventure Golf course in the pub beer garden of The Railway Inn in Westerfield, near Ipswich, Suffolk on a visit to the town to see family. The course opened in March this year. In our minigolf match-up Emily won with a round of 24 to my score of 27.

The Adventure Golf course at The Railway was the 1,064th course visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour, the 1,007th we've been to in the British Isles, and the 575th course we've played on our travels since 2006. When combined with my brother Christopher and his family's branch of the tour we're currently at 1,111 courses visited overall.

The Railway Inn in Westerfield, near Ipswich, Suffolk is home to a new Adventure Golf course.

The course is planned to open on Friday 29th March.

Crazy Golf at Ipswich Cornhill

There will be a pop-up 9-hole crazy golf course on the Cornhill in Ipswich, Suffolk from Monday 15th August to Thursday 18th August.

Boom: Battle Bar opening in Ipswich

A new Boom: Battle Bar will open in Ipswich, Suffolk.

The new Boom: Battle Bar planned for the Buttermarket in Ipswich has been given the green light and is scheduled to open in February 2022.

The new competitive socialising venue in the town centre will be home to minigolf, shuffleboard, beer pong, axe throwing and more.

It'll be another new course for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour when we're next back in Emily's home town.

There are plans for lots of new Boom: Battle Bar indoor entertainment venues to open in the coming months.

Miniature Golf is a big part of the retailtainment boom, with courses opening as standalone entertainment activities, or as part of large shoppingtainment leisure offerings in shopping centres, malls, high streets and retail parks.

We played the 'Crazier Golf' course at the original Boom: Battle Bar in Norwich while on our recent Crazy World of Minigolf Tour trip to East Anglia.

Ipswich is Emily's home town and we regularly visit. It'll be interesting to see a Boom: Battle Bar in the town centre.

We spotted this modern day ghost sign on a former Pizza Hut restaurant at the Anglia Retail Park in Ipswich, Suffolk last month.

It is looking likely that a branch of Tim Horton's will be taking over the vacant unit in the future.

This sign is still up. But for how much longer?

Sadly Toys R Us closed in the UK in April 2018. Luckily there are still remnants of the brand on some retail parks in the UK. I worked in the Gipsy Lane store in Luton, Bedfordshire back in the year 2000.

Alton Water Mini Golf in Ipswich

A visit to the Alton Water Mini Golf course in Ipswich, Suffolk.

My brother and Charter Member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour has sent over some photos of the miniature golf course at Alton Water in Suffolk.

The Alton Water Mini Golf course is the 982nd course visited overall on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since September 2006.

The course was created by the team at UrbanCrazy and opened earlier this year.

We're looking forward to having a game there in the future. We'd normally have been to see family and friends in Ipswich a number of times already this year but haven't been able to get back once yet.

The Crazy World of Minigolf Tour

Christopher and his family have visited 36 courses on their branch of the tour, 26 of those have been unique to them. Emily and I have visited 956 courses on the main tour.

Christopher has been to four courses in 2020.

We've been to a total of 46 courses in 2020, with 15 of those being new courses visited. We've swung by eight new courses in the time of coronavirus.

We've got 40 of the original 600 we set out to visit left and a lot of new courses to play at too!
