The Putting Shed Mini Golf at the Twenty Pence Garden Centre in Wilburton, Ely, Cambridgeshire has received some updates.

Twenty Pence Garden Centre in Wilburton has updated its mini golf course.

The Putting Shed Mini Golf at the Twenty Pence Garden Centre is an outdoor 9-hole mini golf course that opened in 2021.

We first heard about the course in 2024 and have yet to swing by for a look on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Adventure Golf in Clevedon, North Somerset

The minigolf course at Salthouse Fields in Clevedon, North Somerset is set to be redeveloped.

The crazy golf course Salthouse Fields in Clevedon look set to be updated as part of improvement works of Salthouse Fields - including reopening the miniature railway - and Clevedon seafront.

In July 2011 we visited the 9-hole Crazy Golf on the seafront at Salthouse Fields. It became the 400th course visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour!

The course was a tricky one to play and a lot of the shots needed to be very firm to carry them over some subtle obstacles within the course's concrete construction.

Ghetto Golf in Newcastle

From Ghetto Golf to Golf Fang to Ghetto Golf.

The Golf Fang indoor minigolf venue in Byker, Newcastle has rebranded under its original name of Ghetto Golf.

The Ghetto Golf location at Hoults Yard in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne has seen several new themed holes added to the course as part of the refresh, one of which is based on a Netto supermarket.

We swung by Ghetto Golf in Newcastle on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in 2019 on our last visit to the city.

We played the Golf Fang course in Nottingham last summer. It was the 1,088th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

New Crazy Pool at Roxy Ball Room Merrion Street in Leeds

The team at Roxy Ball Room has recently refurbished their Merrion Street venue in Leeds city centre.

Part of the updates have seen a new 9-hole crazy pool course replace the one that was there before.

We played crazy pool at the Merrion Street location last summer. We'll have to check out the new crazy pool tables and layout when we're next in Leeds.

Refurbishment at Mulligans Crazy Golf in Cheltenham

The Mulligans crazy golf venue in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire has received a refurbishment.

Mulligans Cheltenham is home to two indoor 18-hole adventure golf courses - one is Jurassic-themed, with the other having an underwater theme.

As well as the refurbishment to the two indoor crazy golf courses at Mulligans Cheltenham, the venue has seen the addition of Electro-Darts and Electro-Shuffle, along with a new family-friendly sports viewing zone.

We visited Mr Mulligan's Lost World Golf at The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham when the venue launched back in October 2017. The two courses there - Neptune's Mist and Canopy Creek - were the 784th and 785th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Refurbishment at Galactic Golf in Halifax

The Galactic Golf venue in Halifax, West Yorkshire is receiving a refurbishment.

Galactic Golf in Halifax is home to two indoor 18-hole adventure golf courses - Moon Mission and Cosmic Quest. Both of these layouts are receiving a refurbishment.

New Mini Golf at Pickie Fun Park in Bangor, Northern Ireland

A new mini golf course will be one of the updates as part of an upgrade to the facilities at Pickie Fun Park in Bangor, Northern Ireland.

Pickie Fun Park in Bangor, Northern Ireland will close for a year in 2027 with the park re-opening in 2028 following work to upgrade and refurbish the fun park.

One of the improvements will be to the crazy golf course.

The 18-hole mini golf course at Pickie Fun Park will be reconfigured and receive updates to add a new Northern Ireland-theme to it.

Minigolf is an incredibly popular leisure and sporting activity for all ages, and we're seeing an exciting boom in new courses opening up across the UK. From vibrant indoor venues in towns and city centres to sprawling outdoor adventure golf parks, the game continues to evolve and captivate players all year round.

While minigolf was traditionally a seaside summer pastime in the UK, the last decade or so has seen its growth into more urban settings, with many venues now catering to a late night audience. It can be the perfect activity for groups of friends, families, and young and old alike.

Here's a look at course openings, announcements, developments, refurbishments, closures, and pop-ups during July 2025.

New courses opened (July 2025)

• There's a new Glow Golf indoor minigolf course at the Jump In by AirHop venue in Elstree, Hertfordshire.
• There's a new Crazy Pool course at Roxy Ball Room Deansgate in Manchester. It replaces the Crazy Golf course on the second floor of the venue.
• The new Mulligans Guildford venue opened in Guildford, Surrey on Monday 14th July.
The new 18-hole outdoor Adventure Golf course at Beachfields in Sheerness on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent opened on Wednesday 23rd July.
• Birdie Barn Putting Range opened on Mersea Island in Essex on Thursday 24th July.

New courses planned/in development (July 2025)

• The new Rivals Social indoor entertainment centre in Canterbury will be home to an interactive mini golf course as one of the attractions on offer at the venue.
• There are plans for a new Puttify mini golf course to open as part of an investment in the leisure services in Guildford, Surrey.
• Carnival Golf & Games will be opening at the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
• King Pins Leeds will be opening at the White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds, West Yorkshire on Friday 15th August. The venue will be home to a Crazy Pool course as well as other games.
• Plans for a new Mini Adventure Golf course at the Tee Time Golf Centre in Blackpool have been approved.

Courses refurbished (July 2025)

• The outdoor adventure golf course at Cadbury Garden Centre in Congresbury, North Somerset reopened as Cannonball Creek Adventure Golf on Saturday 19th July following a refurbishment.
• The Crazy Golf course at Little Links Golf in St Annes on the Sea on the Fylde coast has been refurbished and is now open to play again.
• The Puzzle Room - Cannock has refurbished the minigolf course at the venue in Cannock, Staffordshire.
• The North Bay Adventure Golf course in Scarborough, North Yorkshire has recently re-opened following a refurbishment.
• The Crazy Golf course in Scarborough, North Yorkshire has recently re-opened following a refurbishment and is now called Victoria Park Adventure Golf.

Courses closed (July 2025)

• The Roxy Golf course at Roxy Ball Room Deansgate in Manchester has been removed as part of the refurbishment of the venue and been replaced by a new Crazy Pool course.

Pop-up courses (July & August 2025)

• There was a pop-up mini golf course organised by the Slough BID in Slough, Berkshire at the end of July.
• The Wild Swing Mini Golf course can be found in the Greenwich Peninsula in London during July & August.
• Clarks Village outlet shopping mall in Street, Somerset has an Art & Putt Mini Golf course from the 19th July to the 31st August.
• There will be Mini Golf at six English Heritage sites during July & August.
• There's a pop-up mini golf course at Studfold Adventure Trail in Harrogate, North Yorkshire this summer.
• There will be a free-to-play Crazy Golf course in Skipton, North Yorkshire on Friday 1st August.

Crazy Pool at Roxy Ball Room Deansgate in Manchester

It was brilliant to attend the venue relaunch of Roxy Ball Room Deansgate in Manchester on Tuesday evening.

We've been to the venue several times over the years - including a superb New Year's Eve 'do' a few years ago - and it was nice to check out the location again, see all the changes and additions there, and play some games for free!

The first game we played was Crazy Pool (a cross-between Crazy Golf and Pool, played on tables using golf balls and a cue), followed by Shuffleboard - and we had one win apiece in each game. We need to return to play the Tech Darts to decide the overall winner.

Thank you to all the staff at the venue for a nice welcome, and a full tour of the venue and a run through of the changes (I may even be a convert to karaoke after seeing the Karaoke Pods that contain Tech Darts in them too!).

The Crazy Pool course became the 1,086th course we've visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since our travels began back in September 2006.

Currently eleven of Roxy Ball Room's 19 venues are home to Crazy Pool layouts, they are:

The latest one at Roxy Deansgate was quite different to the two Crazy Pool layouts we've play at the Arndale and Merrion Street branches - there were more integrated obstacles and the course had lighting effects.

Roxy Ball Room's sister brand King Pins is opening a new venue at the White Rose Centre in Leeds in August and that will also be home to a Crazy Pool course.

An Adventure Golf course is reopening in Congresbury, North Somerset.

The Adventure Golf course at Cadbury Garden Centre in Congresbury, North Somerset has been refurbished and is opening this month.

The minigolf course at Cadbury Garden Centre in Congresbury is reopening as Cannonball Creek Adventure Golf on Saturday 19th July.

Roxy Ball Rooms are home to a range of competitive socialising activities, and the refurbishment at Roxy Ball Room Deansgate sees new karaoke rooms, duck pin bowling, shooting pods, tech darts, and a brand new bar.

We really enjoyed the venue - especially on a big New Years Eve out there a few years ago! It'll be interesting to see what the new look is like.

The Puzzle Room - Cannock is refurbishing the minigolf course at the venue in Cannock, Staffordshire.

The Puzzle Room - Cannock will soon have an upgraded indoor minigolf course, with the 9-hole Carnival Crazy Golf opening on Monday 21st July.

A Crazy Golf course makeover in St Annes on the Sea.

The Crazy Golf course at Little Links Golf in St Annes on the Sea has been refurbished.

The 12-hole Crazy Golf course at the Little Links Golf in St Annes on the Sea on the Fylde coast has received a spruce up and is now open to play.

Little Links Golf is also home to an 18-hole Par-3 Pitch n Putt course and an 18-hole grass Putting Green.

New Minigolf Courses in the UK

We've just updated our tracker for new crazy golf, minigolf and adventure golf course openings across the British Isles where we wrote about the continued boom in new courses, renovations and refurbs.

The updated Cannonball Creek Adventure Golf course at Cadbury Garden Centre is another example of the game growing in the UK.

Minigolf courses at garden centres

Minigolf has become very popular in recent years and has developed from being a traditional outdoor seaside summer activity to become a year round game that can be played indoors or out.

You can find minigolf, crazy golf and adventure golf courses at several garden centres in the UK.

Much like at shopping malls, outlet centres and on the high street, customers are looking to be entertained while they shop, and garden centres can be a perfect spot for a game of minigolf.

Crazy Golf at the Rhos Fynach in Rhos on Sea

The Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach in Rhos on Sea, Wales is being refurbished.

The outdoor Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea will shortly be receiving a refurbishment. This will see the course closed from Monday 16th June and reopening on Saturday 28th June.

We're looking forward to seeing what the refreshed course looks like.

We played the 9-hole Crazy Golf course at the Rhos Fynach pub and restaurant in Rhos on Sea on Miniature Golf Day back in 2017. The course was the 462nd played and 781st visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Crazy Golf course reopening in Ardrossan, North Ayrshire

The seafront Crazy Golf course in Ardrossan, Scotland has been refurbished and is opening on Friday 6th June.

The Ardrossan Community Development Trust undertook the work as part of the developments to the promenade in the seaside town.

We visited the Crazy Golf in Ardrossan on our trip to Scotland for the Glasgow 2014 Comonwealth Games. The course was right outside our hotel. Below are some photos showing how the course looked back then.
