New indoor Crazy Golf course at One Adventure in Droylsden.

Reading the Tameside Reporter newspaper recently I spotted an item about the new indoor glow-in-the-dark Crazy Golf course at One Adventure in Droylsden, Manchester. It's very nearby to us so we're looking forward to a game there soon.

Mar's Mini Golf in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Finding out about Mar's Mini Golf - a 3D Glow in the Dark course in Saskatoon, Canada.

As I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting minigolf courses and stories I found out about Mar's Mini Golf in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The 3D Glow in the Dark course recently celebrated it's 5th birthday.

I'm a BIG fan of glow in the dark minigolf courses although there aren't very many in the UK. Some new indoor minigolf courses are applying glow in the dark elements, or have a few holes that are blacklit, but not many go all out on it.

The 200th course we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was a 3D glow in the dark course - the only one I've played - it's in Castleford, Yorkshire.

It'd be brilliant to revisit Canada - we had our honeymoon in Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Ghetto Golf in Birmingham

A visit to the new Ghetto Golf course in Digbeth, Birmingham.

While on a recent visit to Birmingham I swung by the new Ghetto Golf course at the Custard Factory in Digbeth.

Unfortunately I didn't have time for a game on the 18-hole indoor Crazy Golf course as I had a train to catch. The course was looking nice and busy during my later afternoon visit.

Some of the holes look amazing - I love the Sonic the Hedgehog loop-di-loop 18th.

Some of the holes are rather risque!

I'm looking forward to a game with Emily at Ghetto Golf in Birmingham (and at the Liverpool course).

On my last trip to Birmingham I had a sneak peak at the indoor Crazy Golf course while it was under construction. It looks like the team at Ghetto Golf have done a marvellous job of converting the old hall at the Custard Factory into the minigolf course!

Halloween at Globalls Crazy Golf in Brighton

The team at Globalls Crazy Golf in Brighton are putting together the finishing touches to their Halloween-themed minigolf layout.

The 12-hole glow-in-the-dark Crazy Golf course is normally full of dinosaurs, but between Friday the 13th and Halloween itself the indoor Crazy Golf course will be transformed into an incredibly popular creepshow!

There'll be Dracula, Frankenstein, Skeletons, Zombies and more at the Globalls Halloween event

Emily and I are really looking forward to visiting Jurassic Globalls - and the new 'Tropicana' course they are opening - on our next trip to Brighton. It's been a while since we were in the seaside resort.

Check out the Jurassic Globalls website, Facebook and Twitter for more info.

Ghetto Golf in Digbeth, Birmingham

A sneak peak at the new Ghetto Golf indoor Crazy Golf course at The Custard Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham.

On a recent trip to Birmingham I had a couple of hours to kill before my train back to Stockport so I had a wander to The Custard Factory in Digbeth to see if I could see any sign of the new Ghetto Golf course that is being built there.

Looking around I couldn't see any signs or branding for the course and having had a good walk around the area I guessed it could only be in one location - a hall next to an arch in the railway viaduct - so I made my inquiries there. I was right as the brand new 18-hole indoor Crazy Golf is under construction inside.

What's in the box?

It was great to meet Kip and Dan - the brains behind Ghetto Golf - and have a walk around the course. There are a LOT of things I wasn't expecting to see there and plenty of obstacles and hole designs I haven't seen before. Quite an achievement as the course visit was the 780th on my Crazy World of Minigolf Tour since 2006! It was nice to see there's going to be an indoor black light UV section of the layout too.

I can't give too much away, but if you like your minigolf to be quirky and enjoy a drink and a laugh you'll enjoy Ghetto Golf. The team at the course have been posting some teaser photos from the course on their Facebook page so do give it a like to see what's in store (quite literally in terms of the Blockbuster hole they've created!).

Ghetto Golf opens at The Custard Factory in Digbeth, Birmingham on Friday 13th October. Check out the Ghetto Golf website for more information, opening times, prices and booking details.

If you can't wait that long you can visit the original Ghetto Golf course at Cains Brewery in Liverpool. We need to find some time to get over to Liverpool for a round there soon.

The Twilight Zone Mini Golf at Bally's Las Vegas

New indoor minigolf course opening at Bally's Las Vegas in late 2017.

There's a brand new indoor minigolf course opening at Bally's Las Vegas this year. Created by the team at Monster Mini Golf the course will be Twilight Zone themed!

The Twilight Zone by Monster Mini Golf course will open at Bally's Las Vegas in late 2017

The Twilight Zone mini golf course sounds brilliant and I hope to play it in the future. The Twilight Zone is one of my favourite programmes so I can't wait to see the theming and obstacles at the course.

We love visiting Las Vegas and have played most of the courses out there. On Emily's last visit to the city she played the Kiss by Monster Mini Golf course. On my last visit I won the Putt Park Annual Mini Golf tournament!

Junkyard Golf Club at First Street in Manchester

Playing the three new Crazy Golf courses at Junkyard Golf Club at First Street in Manchester.

Last night Emily and I attended the launch party to welcome Junkyard Golf Club to its new home at First Street in Manchester.

I do like blacklit indoor minigolf courses and three of the 27 holes at Junkyard Golf are UV

Junkyard Golf Club first popped up at the Great Northern Warehouse before moving to Piccadilly and has now settled into its permanent venue at First Street.

In our rounds on the three Crazy Golf courses at the Junkyard Golf Club Emily won on the Gary course, I won on the Bozo layout and Emily took the win on the Pablo course.

Time Machine Minigolf in Warsaw, Poland

Visiting the indoor UV blacklight minigolf course at Blue City in Warsaw.

Emily recently made the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour's 27th minigolf course visit overseas when she swung by Time Machine Minigolf at Blue City in Warsaw, Poland. It looks superb.

The 18-hole minigolf course takes players through a fantastic time travelling adventure - from the big bang, to the jurassic era, through mankind's achievements and a vision of the future!

The loop-di-loop obstacle is also a time machine!

We have now visited 723 miniature golf courses since September 2006. 696 of those were in the UK, with 27 overseas.

What a BIG minigolf ball!

We've visited a number of indoor minigolf courses on our travels and they're becoming more and more popular around the world.

2017 could very well be the year of Time Travel as charter member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher Gottfried visited the time travel themed GlowGolf minigolf course in Amsterdam in January.

The closest I've been to a minigolf time machine recently was hitting the Doomsday Device at Mr Mulligan's Lost World Adventure Golf in Stevenage last year. Although back in 2012 I did play a Time Machine hole at the Golf Apocalypse in London.

Indoor glow in the dark minigolf in Brighton

Finding out about Jurassic Globalls indoor glow in the dark minigolf in Brighton.

It's always brilliant to see new minigolf courses opening and even better to hear they are doing well. One such new minigolf course is Jurassic Globalls, an indoor glow in the dark course in Brighton. We haven't been to Brighton for a few years, but really ought to so we can play the new course and see what's changed down there. In the meantime the team at Globalls were kind enough to send me the first scorecard they ever printed for my collection of minigolf ephemera and merchandise in the Crazy Golf Museum. It looks great.

The scorecard at Jurassic Globalls is nice, big, colourful and high quality

I've been told the course record for the 12-hole course currently stands at 19 shots, with the average score coming in at the 50 shots mark!

You can find Jurassic Globalls at Unit 8, Ground Floor, Mermaid Walk, The Waterfront, Brighton Marina BN2 5WA. Visit the Jurassic Globalls website for more information, opening times and prices.

Emily and I are looking forward to having a crack at the course on our next trip to Brighton on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We've played minigolf at Brighton Marina before - on an Adventure Golf course which had one of the smallest holes we've ever seen!

Do give Jurassic Globalls a follow on social media too as I've seen they run quite a few competitions to win free rounds and other fun stuff.

GlowGolf Amsterdam

A look inside the GlowGolf indoor minigolf course in Amsterdam.

My brother and Charter Member of the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour Christopher was recently on a Stag Do in Amsterdam and ended up finding and playing the GlowGolf indoor minigolf course there.

The course has a Time Travel theme

We're big fans of glow in the dark indoor minigolf courses and the 15-hole course looks brilliant and very well themed.

Explosive!

Christopher tells me the competition for the Amsterdam Open Championship title was intense and while regular golfer Curtis Allen was leading for much of the contest he fluffed one hole to gift the lead to Rob Marson and Christopher. It ended going to the last hole and Rob picked up the win and 1 Euro in prize money by managing to get his ball in the side of the final hole that scored a 1, while Christopher's ball went the other way to score a 2.

Winning at Subpar Miniature Golf

A great online minigolf contest.

I do enjoy a good minigolf contest and courses often hold online 'guess the number of ball' competitions. A recent promotion from Subpar Miniature Golf in Alameda, California was definitely one of the best I've ever seen and had a fun and novel twist.

To win you had to incorrectly guess the number of golf balls in the photo!

Incorrectly guess the number of golf balls used to create this Valentine and you may win! Photo by Subpar Miniature Golf
How many golf balls do you see?

Using my many years of minigolf experience I guessed at 732 and won!

The prize is a Subpar Miniature Golf bumper sticker - it'll be a fine addition to my collection and the Crazy Golf Museum archives - and by posting a photo of it stuck on my car I'll also receive a free round at the course. Now, to book my flights so I can collect the sticker...

Let's hope it's not my last minigolf win of the year!

You can find the Subpar Miniature Golf course at 1511 Park Stree, Alameda, California. Visit the Subpar Miniature Golf website for more info, opening times and prices.

It sounds like a great place as it's also got pool, a slot car track, an arcade and air hockey. On Fridays and Saturdays the Miniature Golf course becomes a Glow Golf layout too!

Our friends over at A Couple of Putts played the course last year, check out their review. It certainly looks like they had fun there.

Playing Junkyard Golf in Manchester

A revisit to play the Junkyard Crazy Golf course in Manchester.

The two 9-hole Junkyard Crazy Golf Club courses in Manchester's Piccadilly Place were the 718th and 719th courses visited on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour last November. They are now the 421st and 422nd played.

Junkyard Crazy Golf in Manchester
Hole 1 and 2 on the Pablo course

In my round on the Pablo Crazy Golf course I scored a 27 - the last hole, a Volcano, did me in with a five! It's got a very tough second putt up hill.  I shot a 29 on the Frieda course, with the third hole doing me in with a costly seven!

There's a blacklight section of the course. One of my favourite types of minigolf design

There are definitely some good hole-in-one opportunities on the course, with the loop-di-loop first hole and skate ramp fourth holes on Frieda my favourites.

Visit the Junkyard Golf website for more details on the Manchester and London courses. We've heard good things about the FOUR London courses the team at Junkyard Golf have created.

We've visited 721 courses in the UK and overseas. One of those courses was in the exact same spot as Junkyard Golf. Back in 2012 there was a Christmas-themed Crazy Golf course set-up for six weeks. That course was the 313th played. I also won the Chrizy Golf Masters tournament there during that visit!
