A surprising 'bonus' Minigolf discovery in Chapel St Leonards.
After our trip to Mablethorpe and short visit to Sutton on Sea on Thursday 19th May 2011 we headed along the Lincolnshire coast towards Skegness.
We had noticed on the MiniatureGolfer.com Course List that there was a Crazy Golf course at the Lakeside in Chapel St Leonards so headed to see what we could find there.
But before we reached the Lakeside we drove through the Golden Palm Resort and spotted not one, but two Crazy Golf courses side-by-side at the Holiday Resort!
The two 9-hole courses were quite different, and both were fun to play. The Golden Palm Resort reminded us of a mini-Las Vegas, and is well worth a visit.
The first course we played (#231 on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour) was the 'Sea Dwellers' Crazy Golf.
The course was made up of multiples of just a couple of base hole designs, but with different sea creatures on each. The theming was very well done, and it was quite different to Putt on a course with blue 'greens'!
In our first Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match-up in Chapel St Leonards Emily defeated me 17-19.
The second course (#232) was more 'traditional' (if such a thing exists in Minigolf), and was a felt on concrete design, with brick borders.
In our Irregular Mini Golf Tour Match-up on the second course Emily defeated me 20-21 to seal an 18-hole match victory against me too.
