Adventure Golf on Sea Road in Felixstowe

One of our most visited minigolf courses is the Fantasia Adventure Golf course on Sea Road in Felixstowe. We never fail to swing by to look at the layout - even if it's out of season. It was definitely unplayable in the snowy weather conditions we faced in the seaside town yesterday.

Here's a blog post about the course from a better day in 2016.

The 9-hole course was the 7th we ever played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour way back in 2007!

A return to the Leopoldpark minigolf courses in Blankenberge

A revisit to the Mini Golf courses at the Leopoldpark in Blankenberge, Belgium.

Emily recently returned to Blankenberge in Belgium she noticed there was a large Christmas decoration still standing next to the miniature golf courses at the Leopoldpark.

While there Emily also took a few more snaps of the colourful minigolf, crazy golf and snooker golf courses at the Leopoldpark. They do look marvellous and we can't wait to return and actually play them!

The three 18-hole courses at Leopoldpark became the 710th, 711th and 712th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

On her last visit Emily spotted there was also a Petanque terrain at the Leopoldpark. This time she spotted there are some undercover pistes there too. Looks like a great spot to play some boules.

'Bangolf' minigolf course at the Hellasgården in Nacka, Sweden

I was very interested to receive some great photos from John Snelgrove who had spotted this Minigolf (Bangolf) course while in Sweden in January.

The Bangolf course is at the Hellasgården in Nacka, a large nature area 5km southeast of Stockholm city. John tells me the area also has a lake that you can skate on in the winter!

Looking online the course looks like it's of the 'Eternit' type, but with some modifications - not least the addition of felt to the playing surface. You can see some snaps of the course on the Hellasgården Facebook page here and here.

In 2011 Emily and I played for the GB team in the WMF Nations Cup international tournament in Stockholm. One of those courses was of a similar variety. The weather for that event was quite different to the conditions found on John's visit to Sweden though.

Whatever happened to the blogs of 'The Machine' & 'Clockwork Orange'?

Two Minigolf blogs go unwritten on for a year and a bit.

It's been just over a year since my friend, fellow blogger, Minigolf rival and occasional team-mate Oliver 'The Machine' Florence blogged.

The last post on his blog - The Minigolfer - was about the dreadful weather conditions that prevented me making a trip to Guildford in a blog called "Snow luck for Gottfried as Guildford curse strikes again". It caused a blog post be written here in Luton too.

I did eventually make it to the county town of Surrey for a day of games, a visit to the castle and a look at a giant beetle in April last year. There was also an incident involving a car that Ollie should of blogged about. Maybe in a podcast format considering the vocal outburst made by Mr Florence.

Another blog to have fallen by the wayside in the last year is that of another friend and Minigolf Wunderkind Seth 'Orange Clock' Thomas, whose Forever Pushing Buttons blog hasn't been updated since January 29th 2012!

I wonder if either will be updated in 2013...

Snow causes blog post in Guildford

My mate, fellow blogger, former minigolf doubles partner and "sometime adversary" Oliver 'The Machine' Florence has blogged about the snowy weather getting in the way of some Guildford-based activities today.

I had been scheduled to visit the town for some Bar Billiards and a walk around the castle, but snow and heavy traffic on the M1 put paid to that idea.

You can check out the excellent blog post at Ollie's brilliant blog at "Snow luck for Gottfried as Guildford curse strikes again".

A Great Snowman at The Green Indoor Minigolf Course

Luckily the tournament was played indoors as the conditions outside were quite inhospitable.

Snow Crazy Golf at Tea Green Golf, Luton

Attempting to play Minigolf on a snowed under Crazy Golf course.

We headed up to Tea Green Golf near Luton this afternoon to hit the driving range and attempt to play the 9-hole Minigolf course (despite the heavy snow and ice covering the course).

After getting a 5 on hole one and a 3 on hole four (bypassing holes 2 & 3) the round was abandoned due to the adverse weather conditions - it was impossible to play and I was some way off beating the course record of 13(-5), needing 5 shots in seven holes. It was great fun putting through the snow and ice, and attempting to find the actual holes!?

More Snow - Sledging & Crazy Golf

After the snow a few short weeks ago in December another great flurry has meant that the time is right for more sledging action - and hunting out snow covered Crazy Golf courses in Luton.

Back in March 2008 the course in Wardown Park had a dusting of snow, but nothing like the covering it got earlier this week.

Here's what hole one looks like in better weather.

A new sledge!

My hunt for a sledge* is now over after I found the 'Omega J.P.R. B90 3RF' today!

Despite the fact that it is now highly unlikely to snow again anytime soon I have made the wise investment today, for the fun I can have in the future!

A challenge has already been declared to see which will go faster - the new sledge, or the old snowboard? The smart money is on the sledge, it is red after all.

Sledges (Slegdes - sic) & Snowboards

With the snowy weather continuing, my hunt for a sledge continues. And by the looks of this sign (found in Halfords) the hunt will go on for even longer.

However, my trusty old snowboard is still good fun.

Snow halts play

The past few days of snowy weather made it far too treacherous to make the journey to the Adventure Island Monday Night Minigolf League at Star City, Birmingham.

Instead a walk around Luton took me past the Minigolf Course at Wardown Park which was completely snowed under!

My record in the AIMG Winter League remains as follows:
Played - 10
Won - 8
Drawn - 1
Lost - 1
Points - 25
