A look back at our visit to the Putting course on Plymouth Hoe, Devon.

During our summer holiday around the South West of England back in 2015 we visited 62 miniature golf courses on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

One of those courses was the Putting Green on the Hoe in Plymouth, Devon.

The course was the 625th visited on our travels.

 

Squeezing 62 course visits into two-weeks was a BIG task and it wasn't possible to stop at, or play all of the Mini, Crazy and Adventure Golf courses, or all the Putting Greens and Pitch & Putts we saw on the trip, or those we'd heard about beforehand.

Jungle Journey Adventure Golf in Torquay, Devon

Funder Island Adventure Golf in Woolacombe, Devon

A look back at our visit to the Funder Island Adventure Golf course in Woolacombe, Devon.

One of those courses was the 15-hole Funder Island Adventure Golf in the seaside town of Woolacombe.

We also noticed that the Woolacombe Bay Hotel had a Mini Golf course of the Pitch & Putt variety. Unfortunately the cost to park in Woolacombe was so expensive we weren't able to play either of the courses

Pebble Ridge Adventure Golf in Westward Ho!

New Paradise Island Adventure Golf course heading to Plymouth

There's a new Paradise Island Adventure Golf course opening in Plymouth.

Details of the new indoor adventure golf venue and the PIAG courses at Cheshire Oaks, Glasgow, Livingston, Manchester, Sheffield, Derby and Rushden Lakes can be found on the Paradise Island Adventure Golf website.

We're looking forward to a return visit to Plymouth on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour. We stayed in the port city during our tour of the South West of England in 2015.

The Goodrington Sands Crazy Golf course in Devon

The Crazy Golf course in Goodrington Sands, Devon was the 600th course visited and the 370th we had played up until that point. A large number of courses we visit on our travels tend to be closed, derelict, abandoned or out-of-season.

We visited a total of 62 miniature golf courses during our brilliant two-week holiday around the coast of South West England in the summer of 2015.

At Goodrington Sands

The 600th course visited overall on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was the Jurassic Golf course at Santa-Fe Adventure Park in Swanage, Dorset on Sunday 31st May 2015.

When our travels began in September 2006 there were around 600 courses in the UK. We've now been to 895 minigolf courses, including 39 overseas, and there are still a fair few for us to visit.

Course visit number 900 is getting very very close!

I recently received some great photos and scorecards from my friend (and coin & token dealer) Nigel Lutt following his travels to Huelva in Spain, Lagos in Portugal, Niagara Falls in Canada and Beer in Devon! Top stuff indeed.

It's always wonderful to find out about new courses - as well having a look at the scorecards players get too!

First up was the Dinosaur Adventure Golf course in Clifton Hill, Niagara Falls, Canada. Take a look at the size of that volcano!

Next up are some snaps of the interesting looking and motor racing-themed Crazy Golf course in Isla Canela in Huelva, Spain.

The Rules

It's always nice to see the types and variations of scorecard in use at courses. Back on our tour of the south west coast of England Emily and I ran out of time to have a day out at Pecorama in Beer. Judging by Nigel's scorecard from the Pecorama Crazy Golf course we could have been there a long time too as it looks like holes 2, 5, 7 and 8 were very tricky indeed!
