Crazy Pool at Roxy Ball Room in Manchester
The new Roxy Ball Room at Withy Grove in Manchester will be home to a Crazy Pool layout.
Work is underway to create a new Roxy Ball Room venue at next to the Arndale Centre at Withy Grove in Manchester. One of the new games to play there will be Crazy Pool.
Crazy Pool is also available at the Roxy Ball Room on Hanover Street in Liverpool. As a fan of minigolf and billiard hybrid games I was intrigued to see what it would like as I've played a few on my Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
You can see a preview of the Crazy Pool at Roxy Ball Room in Liverpool on Roxy Ball Room's Facebook Page.
It'll be interesting to see what the cues and balls are like and what other obstacles will appear on the tables.
Visit the Roxy Ball Room website for details of their eleven venues and the games on offer.
Check out my blog post "Crazy Snooker Pool Billiards Golf and Pit-Pat" for a look at some of the stranger miniature golf and cue-sports crossover games we've played on our travels.

Crazy Pool
A look at minigolf and billiard hybrid games.
We've seen a fair few variations and hybrids of minigolf, pool, snooker & billiards games on our travels. These have included Crazy Golf Pool and Pit-Pat, as well as some Crazy Golf obstacles that have been created using old pool and snooker tables.
We visited Skegness in 2011 and there was a sign for Crazy Pool on the promenade. It shared the sign for The Original Crazy Golf but there wasn't a trace of any tables when we were there.

Roxy Ball Room in Liverpool's Hanover Street will be home to a Crazy Pool game when it reopens later this month. It'll be an 8-table layout and I'm intrigued to see what the set-up is.
I first saw the game of Pit-Pat (obstacle billiards) in Vienna, Austria back in 2010 - it's like minigolf but played with cues.
You can find official Pit-Pat courses indoors at The Floodgate in Digbeth, Birmingham (where it's called Pit-Pat Table Golf) and outdoors at Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle in Devon (where it is known as Crazy Snooker).
The only other full-size outdoor Pit-Pat layout in the UK was in Littlehampton. Sadly it became a lost course in 2017.

Crazy Pool at Roxy Ball Room in Liverpool
Liverpool's Roxy Ball Room venue on Hanover Street has received a makeover and is reopening on the 27th August.
One of the new games to play at Roxy Ball Room on Hanover Street will be Crazy Pool.
The team at Roxy Ball Room has described it as mash up of minigolf and pool.
It'll be interesting to see what the game is like and if it's Pit-Pat, or another variant on billiards and miniature golf.
Check out the Roxy Ball Room website for details of their eleven venues and the games on offer.
The Roxy Ball Room venue at Rainford Square in Liverpool is home to a crazy golf course. We're yet to play there on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
We have played minigolf at Boar Lane in Leeds and Deansgate in Manchester.
The new Withy Grove Roxy Ball Room in Manchester will also be home to a minigolf course.

Crazy Golf and Crazy Snooker at Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle in Devon
There are Crazy Golf and Crazy Snooker courses at Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle near Ilfracombe in North Devon.
One of the places to visit on our post-pandemic bucket list is Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle near Ilfracombe in Devon.
There's a 9-hole Crazy ‘Fountain’ Golf course there AND a Crazy Snooker layout. When I checked with the theme park the team confirmed it is a Pit-Pat layout. That makes it the only outdoor Pit-Pat course in the UK!
Watermouth money
Two of the tokens in my collection come from Watermouth Castle. I found them at an antiques fair back in 2015 and I found out they date from before 1992.What a happy castle |
I wonder how much 10 Gnolds are worth these days? Not that I'd part with the coin |
Visit the Watermouth Family Theme Park and Castle website for more information.

Snookered at the Golf Apocalypse
A look at the snooker hole at the Golf Apocalypse.
We've played a number of snooker, billiard and pool-based holes and obstacles on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour
The first was hole 7 of the Golf Apocalypse crazy golf course in London back in 2012.
To play it you had to tee-off from the 'D' using your putter as a cue.
The aim was to sink the minigolf ball into one of the corner pockets at the other end of the table where they would then drop down onto the green below.

Snooker at CLUB GOLF
Anyone for snooker?
The last new minigolf course played on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was the pop-up rave-inspired art installation Crazy Golf course at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London.
It was the 948th course visited on our travels since September 2006.

Playing Crazy Golf at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London
A visit to the pop-up Crazy Golf course at Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross, London.
I called in to Coal Drops Yard in King's Cross to play the CLUB GOLF crazy golf pop-up in the shopping and dining area yesterday.
At the 948th course visited on the Crazy World of Minigolf Tour |
Hole 1 by night |
Artists Baker & Borowski created the 9-hole themed Crazy Golf layout inspired by the rave culture in the King's Cross area back in the 1980's and 90's.
There are a lot of signs for the course directing people all the way from King's Cross station |
Players can tee-off on the course midday to 8pm Monday to Saturday, with games costing £5 (under 12s play for free). The layout opened on the 19th February and will close on the 29th March.
Hole 3's loop-di-loop |
The course was the 948th visited on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.
Holes 7 and 9 |
In my round I shot a 23 - the scorecard noted that the maximum score allowed was 63! A seven on each hole.

Crazy Snooker Pool Billiards Golf and Pit-Pat
A look at some of the stranger miniature golf and cue-sports crossover games we've played.
On our travels we've seen quite a few variations of hybrid minigolf / golf / pool / snooker / billiards games including Crazy Golf Pool and Pit-Pat, as well as some Crazy Golf obstacles that have used pool and snooker tables.
In October last year we played Crazy Golf Pool at Krazy Golf Lydney in the Forest of Dean |
I first saw the game of Pit-Pat (obstacle billiards) in Vienna, Austria in 2010 - it's like Crazy Golf but played with cues |
The 7th hole of the Golf Apocalypse course in London back in 2012 used a snooker table |
Hole 5 of the Plonk Golf course set-up at Efes Snooker Hall in Dalston, London in 2015 involved a pool table |
Emily spotted the Snooker Golf course in Blankenberge, Belgium in 2017 |
There's a new indoor Pit-Pat venue opening at The Floodgate in Digbeth, Birmingham this year.
