Winning the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship 2018

Yesterday evening I collected my trophy and prize for winning the Paradise Island Adventure Golf Open Championship at the Trafford Centre venue in Manchester.

What a tournament to win. It's a title I've wanted to win for years!

My score of 31 - the course par is 42 - was enough to fend off the challenge of hundreds of other players who competed over the four-day event.

As part of the prize I received a 6-month free game pass so Emily and I enjoyed a two-round 36-hole game over the two courses yesterday too. We shot a fair few aces on both courses, but were nowhere near the form of last week! We're looking forward to our next match-up at Paradise Island Adventure Golf.

Visit the Paradise Island Adventure Golf website for more information about the PIAG courses in Cheshire Oaks, Derby, Glasgow, Livingston, Manchester and Sheffield.

Winning at Subpar Miniature Golf

A great online minigolf contest.

I do enjoy a good minigolf contest and courses often hold online 'guess the number of ball' competitions. A recent promotion from Subpar Miniature Golf in Alameda, California was definitely one of the best I've ever seen and had a fun and novel twist.

To win you had to incorrectly guess the number of golf balls in the photo!

How many golf balls do you see?

Using my many years of minigolf experience I guessed at 732 and won!

The prize is a Subpar Miniature Golf bumper sticker - it'll be a fine addition to my collection and the Crazy Golf Museum archives - and by posting a photo of it stuck on my car I'll also receive a free round at the course. Now, to book my flights so I can collect the sticker...

Let's hope it's not my last minigolf win of the year!

You can find the Subpar Miniature Golf course at 1511 Park Stree, Alameda, California. Visit the Subpar Miniature Golf website for more info, opening times and prices.

It sounds like a great place as it's also got pool, a slot car track, an arcade and air hockey. On Fridays and Saturdays the Miniature Golf course becomes a Glow Golf layout too!

Our friends over at A Couple of Putts played the course last year, check out their review. It certainly looks like they had fun there.

Luton Town's Victory Parade - Skrill Premier Champions for 2013/14

Congratulations to Luton Town FC on their BIG sporting win in the Skrill Premier Division and promotion back to the football league.

There was a great atmosphere in Luton town centre today as an estimated 12,000 Lutonians headed to St George's Square for the Hatters' Victory Parade.

In the midst of the crowd - can you spot me?

Now that Luton Town are back in the football league they'll be playing games against my other hometown team - Oxford United. Hopefully things continue to improve for both teams and its not like the 2000-01 season of the second division (the year I moved to Luton) when both teams were relegated to Division Three!

Awfully Posh Pork Crackling #ilovethis #winning

Winning some Awfully Posh Snacks from Whole Foods Market.

I'm a regular shopper at the Piccadilly Circus branch of Whole Foods Market and on a recent visit I spotted a chance to win a product they sell.

My favourite is definitely the Pork Crackling from Awfully Posh Snacks, and luckily for me after I tweeted a selfie of me with a packet of the snacks I won!

Awfully Posh Pork Crackling from Whole Foods Market London

I first found out about Awfully Posh Pork Crackling in December 2012 and was incredibly pleased to once again eat Pork Scratchings - not having been able to have any due to being diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2008 and the fact that almost all pork scratchings are produced with the addition of dreaded gluten.

There are two varieties of Awfully Posh Pork Crackling and both of them are gluten free. You can choose either Anglesey Sea Salt, or Scorchingly Hot Chilli.

Both are great and go very well with a gluten free beer.
