We revisited the North Wales coast on Saturday afternoon and swung by one of our favourite courses - the Arnold Palmer Putting Course on Bastion Road in Prestatyn.

As one of our local seaside towns we normally head to Prestatyn a few times a year. But the last visit either of us made was in June 2019!

It's the windmill at the Crazy Golf course in Prestatyn, Wales. It's cool to see a minigolf video of mine in the music video!

A look at an old postcard from Pontins Prestatyn Holiday Centre.

One of the old postcards I bought at the recent Stockport postcard fair was this one sent to Chester in 1987.

The Bamforth & Co. Ltd. card gives a nice view of the holiday camp.

Pontins Prestatyn Sands

Pontins Prestatyn Sands was the setting for the film Holiday on the Buses and we've stayed there twice for special events. The excellent swimming pool and main building on the card are still instantly recognisable today.

The July 2019 issue of Picture Postcard Monthly magazine contains an article I wrote about Pontins postcards.

One of my prized minigolf possessions is from the Pontins Holiday Village. It's something of a crazy golf postcard holy grail as the sender wrote about the course depicted on the card.

Revisiting the Crazy Golf course in Prestatyn.

Last week I replayed one of my favourite miniature golf courses, the Crazy Golf course on Bastion Road in Prestatyn, Wales.

The 18-hole layout was originally an Arnold Palmer Putting Course and still retains many of the original obstacles and design elements. It's one of the best courses in the UK.

Hole 7 - a nice ace opportunity, but it can be very tricky if you over hit your tee shot

The course was originally the 147th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in 2009. We've replayed it a number of times in the years since.

This time I played four games on the course in excellent conditions and scored rounds of 34, 39, 35 and 37.

I didn't win a free game on the lucky last hole this time

Last month I had a fun day out in Rhyl and Prestatyn and swung by the Crazy Golf course at Drift Park.

The course was originally the 147th played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour in 2009. We've revisited the brilliant 18-hole course a number of times since.

Earlier this week I had a brilliant day out at the seaside with my friend and minigolf rival/team-mate Peter 'The Crazy Aced Assassin' Jones.

The weather was wonderful for the time of year and we had a good time exploring the two seaside towns.

I've been to both Rhyl and Prestatyn a number of times since 2009 and we stay at Pontin's Prestatyn Sands holiday camp for the On the Buses fan-club events. However, until my latest visit I hadn't been to Marine Lake - the location of Britain's oldest miniature railway!

As it was out of season we didn't get to have a go on the miniature railway or play any of the Crazy Golf courses. Luckily the amusement arcades were open so we were able to have a game of Bowlingo.

Revisiting the Crazy Golf course in Prestatyn, Wales.

Last September we revisited one of our favourite minigolf courses while on the Holiday on the Buses fan-club weekender in Prestatyn.

Once again we competed in The Butler Cup Holiday on the Buses Crazy Golf tournament, a title I was defending!

The tournament part of the Holiday on the Buses Weekender in Prestatyn is organised by the On the Buses fan-club and held at the Bastion Road Crazy Golf course.

Prior to 2018 the Butler Cup tournament had two categories - Pro and Amateur - as quite a few professional minigolfers are also members of the fan-club! In 2014 Emily won the first edition to feature the Pro category. Brad Shepherd won the 2015 event, no tournament was held in 2016, while I won in 2017.

In 2018 57 players competed in a single title 18-hole one round shoot-out with Brad Shepherd once again lifting the title - in a tie with a fellow fan-club member. I was next in the rankings after the joint winners.
