HUKD Golf opened last year and has two indoor 9-hole Crazy Golf courses - the Roll Up Course and the Kick Off Course. One is funfair-themed, while the other is sports-themed.

Pete tells us that all the holes were well thought out and he thought it was really good. The venue also has golf simulators which he's keen to go back and try out.

HUKD Golf in Bury is another new local course location for us to visit on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

Putt Above Mini Golf & Bar in Blackpool

A new Putt Above Mini Golf & Bar venue is opening in Blackpool.

Blackpool will soon be home to a new indoor high-tech minigolf course as Putt Above Mini Golf & Bar opens on Blackpool Promenade on Thursday 11th January.

We're yet to play at Putt Above Mini Golf - there is also a Putt Above location at Merry Hill in Dudley. Putt Above Mini Golf differs to 'traditional' miniature golf as you play your round on the same lane, with obstacles and theming projection mapped onto the playing surface.

We're looking forward to having a game on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour.

New Adventure Golf at Ribby Hall Village

Ribby Hall Village in Lancashire will have a new Adventure Golf course as part of a new entertainment centre.

The new Adventure Golf course will be an indoor layout.

Ribby Hall Village is also home to an outdoor pirate-themed Adventure Golf course.

Tee-rific Crazy Golf in Blackburn

There's a new indoor crazy golf course in Blackburn, Lancashire.

Tee-rific Crazy Golf - an 18-hole indoor course - has opened in Blackburn.

I've seen a few homages to Only Fools and Horses over the years - the latest being The New Albert Pub in Blackpool.

Cinnabon in the UK

I saw my first Cinnabon in the UK today.

You can get a cinnamon roll at Rivington Services on the M61

There are plans to open 150 Cinnabon outlets in the UK by 2025. The number currently stands at 13 stores.

I really fancy a cinnamon roll now.

USA vs the UK

It's always interesting seeing new and different brands entering the UK. In recent times Dunkin' and Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs have popped up on the high street.

We had a walk round the 18-hole Crazy Golf course at Marine Gardens in Fleetwood on our recent return trip to the seaside town.

We first visited the layout on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour back in 2012.

The location is also home to a Pitch & Putt course.

There was once a Crazy Golf course a stone's throw away at Marine Hall Gardens. We played that course in 2009. Sadly it was removed in 2012.

We took a look at the Pitch & Putt course at Marine Gardens on our recent trip to the seaside town.

The Garfield Hotel in Blackpool

Spotting The Garfield Hotel in Blackpool.

We noticed The Garfield Hotel while walking around Blackpool last week. What a gimmick.

We might have to stay there on a future visit to the seaside resort to see what it looks like inside.

Gator Adventure Golf at the Escape Entertainment centre in Chorley

A visit to the Gator Adventure Golf course at Escape Entertainment in Chorley.

The last new course we played on our Crazy World of Minigolf Tour was Gator Adventure Golf at the Escape Entertainment centre in Chorley, Lancashire last August!

The 18-hole indoor layout was the 955th course we've been to since September 2006.

New miniature golf course in Chorley

There are plans for a new 12-hole miniature golf course to open at Duxbury Park in Chorley, Lancashire.

Chorley is fairly close to us so it'll be interesting to swing by for a game on the new layout when it opens.

Our last pre-pandemic minigolf course visit

The last pre-coronavirus pandemic lockdown minigolf course visit we made was to The Lost Valley Adventure Golf course in Bolton's Market Place shopping centre a year ago today.

That trip to Bolton was our last day out before lockdown.

It'll be great when we can once again get out and about on our travels.

New Adventure Golf course at Golf Rossendale

There are plans for a new Adventure Golf course to be created at Golf Rossendale in Rawtenstall, Lancashire.

The new course is part of a redevelopment of the venue by American Golf.

New Adventure Golf course in Skelmersdale

There are retailtainment plans for the Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

As well as an indoor Adventure Golf course, the WonderWorld attraction at the Concourse Shopping Centre will include a wide-range of activities for adults and children including an inflatable assault course, darts, tenpin bowling, amusements, arcade games and more.

Retailtainment

More and more shopping centres, retail parks and high streets are adding retail entertainment offerings to increase footfall, attract and retain customers. There are a lot of new minigolf courses, competitive socialising venues and family entertainment centres in development and under construction at the moment, all gearing up to be ready for the post-covid world.

Happy Shopper

Finding a Happy Shopper store in Preston.

Short of completing my Time Machine and heading back to 1999 I thought it was nigh on impossible to find an old Happy Shopper shop sign. I guess yesterday was my lucky day.

I just happened to be wearing the right colour jacket for the photo too!

I'm always a happy shopper when I find old branding and interesting signs. We'd gone to Preston to take a look at the abandoned Toys R Us store there

I remember seeing the Happy Shopper shops and branded products a lot when I was a kid.

The Happy Shopper branding was changed in the year 2000 and I think it lost a lot of its charm and individuality. Many of the former Happy Shopper stores were rebranded as Premier shops.

Happy Shopper does still exist, as both convenience stores and own brand food & drink products.

On our travels we've seen a number of old shop signs and retro retail remnants including Tandy in Hitchin; RadioShack in St Annes on the Sea; Toys R Us stores in Ancoats, Manchester, Warrington, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent and Preston; Woolworths Big W in Brunstane, Edinburgh; Blockbuster in Fallowfield, Manhester; Woolworths in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent; BHS in Stockport; Blockbuster Video Express in Colne; Orange Mobile in Oswestry; Kwik Save in Barrow-in-Furness; Cooltrader in Blackpool and the remains of Blockbuster Video stores in Oldham, Cheadle Hulme, Marple, Hastings, Felixstowe, Telford, Prescot and Chester.
